Web Design, Web Development
To enhance their order fulfillment process and improve customer service, Hampden Park came to us with an idea for an e-commerce site. They recognised the need to streamline and improve user experience.
The design had some obstacles to overcome. Only qualified referees could purchase their exclusive kit, and the company didn’t want to take payment prior to dispatch. The idea for the e-commerce site also occurred as the Scottish Cup Final was approaching. This was their peak selling period, and they needed the site fast.
We built a responsive Flow Commerce site to replace Hampden Park’s outdated phone and postal ordering system. We also introduced a new name to differentiate the brand experience: Hampden Retail.
To ensure only authorised footballing professionals could purchase the exclusive kit, our developers built an automated system that verifies customer-entered registration numbers against the Scottish FA database. This meant that unauthorised users couldn’t add products to their basket.
The checkout was integrated with Sage to increase order processing efficiency. In accordance with the client’s request, this was configured so payment isn’t taken until dispatch.
Quick project turnaround meant the site was launched in time for the Scottish Cup Final kick-off. Hampden Park immediately witnessed the benefits of going digital.
